In 2006, after acquiring a nursing home, Robert Heppenheimer was introduced to Raphael Feldman, an RFID expert specializing in RFID solution designs & deployments for two decades. As a licensed Nursing Home Administrator with 20 years experience and as the new operator of an older home, Mr. Heppenheimer recognized the immediate need for a safety upgrade since the nursing facility had no elopement/wandering prevention system in place. As Mr. Feldman highlighted how RFID could be deployed in a skilled nursing facility environment, Mr. Heppenheimer immediately perceived the power of real time location for resident safety and understood the potent ramifications. The two teamed up together to develop a state of the art resident elopement system specifically designed to meet the day-to-day challenges of nursing home staff and managers.

In 2007, during beta testing, the two joined forces with Ronald Ranieri, another nursing home owner/operator. Mr. Ranieri clearly foresaw how RFID/RTLS could be used to solve many operational challenges encountered on a daily basis in operating a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week resident centered environment.

The three "Founding Partners" formed Focus Solutions, LLC, a technology company focused solely on the healthcare sector. Maximizing their unique healthcare and technology expertise, Focus Solutions embarked on a journey to refine TracPoint software with the primary objective of using a "new breed" RFID solution to provide front line managers, clinicians and managers with the real world tools needed to safely manage quality resident care in today's dynamic healthcare environment.

In 2009, TracPoint software broke new ground as the first resident management information system for long-term care providers. The software provides a wide range of solutions well beyond the original goal of elopement/wandering prevention. Features include real time resident monitoring and location, wire call bell capabilities for residents and staff, as well as equipment management and preventative maintenance. All functions were designed for easy usage by all levels of staff to support their abilities in resident care, resident behavioral management and to improve staff and equipment resource utilization.
